The Building:
Warren Lasch Conservation Center

The building originated when the U.S. Navy was still in operation on the Charleston Naval Base. The building was then taken over for use for the recovery and conservation of the H.L. Hunley submarine. Due to the size of the building, access to the Cooper River, and the equipment avaiable it was a perfect fit for the project.

With that in mind, there was a need to add a certain item to the building, henceforth - the tank room. The submarine now has a home with a world-class laboratory included to continue the work on the conservation of it and for future projects.
