Callahan came to Clemson in 1969 before there were many scholarships
for women. So she worked her way through school.
She stayed on after she earned her bachelor’s degree to receive
a master’s degree in city and regional planning. This time she
worked her way through as the community development director for the
city of Clemson.
Callahan has since worked her way through an outstanding career to
her current position as ChevronTexaco general manager for global policy
and
strategy for environment. She provides leadership and direction on
the analysis and development of ChevronTexaco positions on strategic
global
environment, health and safety issues. In fact, she’s recognized
as company and industry spokesperson and representative on such issues.
Her present ChevronTexaco position is at the corporate office in San
Ramon, Calif. Before joining Texaco, Callahan spent more than a decade
with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.
