Civil
engineering graduates Meg Nikovits and Anne Cope are structural engineers
for the RS&H
(Reynold Smith and Hill) Aerospace and Defense Program on Merritt
Island, Fla.
Since 1960, RS&H has been involved in the definition, design,
management, testing and checkout of aerospace launch support equipment
and space launch facilities for NASA and the Air Force, as well as
other Department of Defense agencies.
Nikovits came to RS&H from the bridge design industry in 2003 to
work on a structural refurbishment project for the Shuttle launch facilities
at Kennedy Space Center. Cope joined RS&H the same year while completing
her Ph.D. at the University of Florida. They work with a third Clemson
engineer, *Brice Lytle ’48, who has been with RS&H since
1974 and has been involved in the space industry since its infancy
in 1961.
