Harry Thomas “I.V.” Hall IV ’92, M ’95

Fall 2007

Harry Thomas “I.V.” Hall IV ’92, M ’95Ceramic engineering and bioengineering graduate I.V. Hall of Chester Springs, Pa., is an expert in mending broken bones.

He works for Synthes Inc., the leading global medical device company in the world for bone fracture repair, and he’s patented two devices for the fixation of hip fractures.

One is for rotational stabilization of bone segments comprising a bone plate and a locking collar. The other is an intramedullary fixation device that uses a sliding helical blade element to stabilize the fracture.

Clemson’s College of Engineering and Science (CES) honored Hall earlier this year with an Outstanding Young Alumni Award. He’s pictured left with CES dean Esin Gulari and fellow recipient Ed Sutt M ’96, PhD ’00.
