Be Punctual
The world of a college instructor, like that of any professional, is
a busy one. Instructors often have packed schedules with relatively
little flexibility. It is therefore critical that you not waste a faculty
member's valuable time by being late for scheduled appointments or classes.
If you make an appointment, then be sure to keep it. If for some reason
you cannot keep an appointment, then call the instructor IN ADVANCE
to reschedule.
Faculty don't like to be kept waiting any more than you
do, so be respectful of your instructor's time and willingness to meet
with you. Moreover, punctuality is a trait that many prospective employers
covet in their workers. It is therefore to your advantage to have faculty
state in their letters of recommendation that, based on personal experience,
they know you will be a reliable and punctual worker.
