Be Responsible
As a student in any course, it is your responsibility
to adhere to all rules and faculty expectations. Always make sure that
you carefully read and understand the course syllabus. If you have questions,
then ask the instructor to clarify them.
It will not impress your instructor if you
ask about an extension or exemption from some course assignment on grounds
that are clearly not allowed in the syllabus. Nor will it impress the
instructor if you claim that you can't get the work done for his/her
course because of other courses. You will typically know of all major
assignments in your courses very early in the semester, so you must
be responsible enough to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary conflicts.
Remember, it is the instructor's responsibility to teach you the course
material, not to plan your academic and social calendar to accommodate
that learning.
