Name: Melanie Aycock
Hometown: Suwanee, GA
Major: Graphic Communications and Political Science
Class: 2018

Campus Involvement: Panhellenic Sorority, Orientation Ambassador, Club Swimming, Young Americans for Freedom, Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Bio: "Congratulations on your acceptance into Clemson as well as into the Calhoun Honors College! I am so excited to finally meet you and officially welcome you into the Family! As corny as it may sound, my first year at Clemson was truly the most incredible experience of my life; my blood now most certainly runs orange! From cheering on the Tigers and hanging out with friends on impromptu Y-Beach visits to meeting new people through study groups and campus involvement, it is now clear to me why the adults always say “college is the best four years of your life”. However, I must say, university life is not without struggles. During those inevitable rough patches and times of confusion, though, I will always be happy to provide advice, moral support, and/or stress relief (with the help of Starbucks, Spill the Beans ice cream, or any yummy treat, of course!). I cannot wait to share more awesome Clemson memories with you and show you that there really is “something in these hills”!"

Name: Emily Clarke
Hometown: Bel Air, MD
Major: Political Science and Marketing
Class: 2017

Campus Involvement: Kappa Delta Sorority, Women’s Club Lacrosse, Dixon Global Policy Scholars, Chapman Scholars, iLead!, Alpha Lambda Delta, Atlas Shrugged Reading Group, Business 1010 TA

Bio: "As a double major and someone who is pretty involved on campus, I have lots of knowledge and tips to share about making the most out of your Clemson experience! I’m a sophomore that lives on campus so it will be easy for us to take trips to Y Beach or downtown to Spill the Beans. I respond to emails and texts very quickly, so feel free to contact me about any questions or concerns you have. I am a laid back, fun-loving person. I am up for any activities you are interested in doing, from playing sports on Bowman to just grabbing a quick coffee in Starbucks. I can’t wait to meet all of you!"

Name: Meredith Ellis
Hometown: Charlotte, NC
Major: Economics B.A.
Minors: Mathematical Sciences and French Language
Class: 2018

Campus Involvement: Kappa Delta Sorority-Assistant VP Finance, Clemson Writing Fellow, Thomas F. Chapman Scholar, Clemson iLEAD!, Tiger Speak Out Competition-Semifinalist, Clemson FCA Small Group, FCA Mission Trip, Newspring Church Volunteer

Bio: "Hi y’all! If you’re not from the South, let me be the first of many to welcome you with that greeting. My name is Meredith Ellis, and I am a rising sophomore. Freshman year was the most incredible year of my life. Adjusting to college was a little difficult, but only took a few months before I realized this was where I was meant to be. Campus involvement definitely helps-you’ll find friends in groups you never expected. I’ve managed to get involved, but I know that there are still so many things I haven’t tried yet. Some of my favorite things to do around Clemson include walking the dykes by Lake Hartwell and hiking waterfalls nearby. I am an avid ice cream eater, but I burn off the calories with lacrosse and tennis. Don’t be nervous, college is going to be awesome! Can’t wait to meet you and see you soon!"

Name: Eliza Geary
Hometown: Greenville, SC
Major: Psychology
Minor: Spanish and Biological Sciences
Class: 2017

Campus Involvement: Young Life Leader at Liberty High School, FCA, Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (2013-2014), Spanish Club, Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Iota, Psychology Creative Inquiry, Psi Chi National Psychology Honor Society

Bio: “Hey yall!  I am a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish and Biological Sciences.  I love running (and I’m always looking for new running partners!), concerts, and traveling.  Being a freshman (especially at Clemson!) is the best, but I was overwhelmed with all of the different opportunities available to me during my first semester.  If you pick me as your mentor, I will help you figure out what organizations are best for you to get involved with so you can thrive at Clemson.  My apartment is within walking distance from campus, and I would love to have you over to bake, hang out at the pool, have dinner, get some laundry done, or just get away from the chaos of campus.  If I’m your mentor, I want to help you with anything and everything – from deciding which Honors seminar to take next semester to figuring out how to get the best seats at the first home football game - as you settle in to your new home at Clemson.  I would love to treat you to ice cream, coffee, froyo, or whatever you’re in the mood for.  Get excited for the next few years at Clemson!"

Name: Michele Schuhriemen
Hometown: Sonoma, CA
Major: Management (Information Systems)
Minor: Psychology
Class: 2016

Campus Involvement: Kappa Delta Sorority, Honors Peer Mentoring Head, FCA Servant Leadership Team, Mortar Board Honors Society – Historian, Aspire Facilitator, Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, Students With A Goal Tutor, Clemson Student Athlete Tutor, Intramural Volleyball

Bio: “Hey everyone, my name is Michele Schuhriemen and I am a senior Management Information Systems major here at Clemson from the west coast! One of my favorite programs on campus is the peer mentoring program you all have the opportunity to be a part of and which I have had the privilege to help direct the past two years! I especially love guiding freshmen in pre-business through their first year and into selecting one of the business majors, finding clubs and activities on campus that will develop their major further, and helping with internship searching. I have been involved in a variety of activities on campus, from Greek life to honors societies, and intramurals to campus ministries, so I would love to be a resource to you about where you can find your niche in the honors college and on the campus as a whole. I can’t wait to meet my group and show them around my favorite Clemson places! Go Tigers!"

My name is Brooke Stroyke and I am a sophomore Political Science major from Manhattan Beach, California. During my transition into Clemson, I met so many people here who welcomed me with open arms, and I would love to be one of those people for you! I’m involved in a wide array of things on campus from clubs, to academic programs, to Greek Life. I would love to help you all with the pursuit of each of your interests. There is an infinite amount of opportunities here which I can attest to first-hand, and I can’t wait to see what you guys do within your first year. You will quickly discover that there’s also an endless amount of fun to be had, which is what makes this place so special. I look forward to getting to know you all and showing you around to the best places around Clemson come fall. If you ever need to meet, talk, or feel like adventuring, I will be more than willing! Name: Rachael Villeneuve

Major: Marketing
Minor: French
Class: 2018

Campus Involvement: Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Intramural Sports, Outdoors Club

Bio: "Hi everyone! My name is Rachael Villeneuve and I am a sophomore majoring in Marketing and minoring in French. After just finishing my Freshman year, I am so excited to start up again in the Fall and get to know all of your new faces. I was born and raised in Southern California, so I know what it’s like to adjust to a completely new environment. I am a huge fan of the outdoors, so if you were to find me on campus, I would probably be laying out by the amphitheater or on Bowman. Another one of my passions is food, particularly ice cream and pizza (which I hope to share with my mentee group throughout the year). I am very outgoing and am looking forward to meeting everyone and helping you anyway that I can this upcoming year!"
