We are delighted that you are interested in learning more about becoming a member of the Calhoun Honors College. The topics below include some important dates and pertinent information.
THE ADMISSION PROCESS!
Admission to the Calhoun Honors College is by application. The Honors College application is separate from, and additional to, your application to Clemson University. To be considered for admission to the Honors College, applicants must have a combined critical reading and math SAT score of at least 1320 or an ACT score of 30. In exceptional situations we will consider applications from students who do not fully meet these qualifications. However, please keep in mind that admission to the Honors College is highly selective, with SAT scores historically averaging 1400 or higher and applicants typically ranking in the top three percent of their high school class. Freshman enrollment in the Honors College is limited to approximately 250, or less than ten percent of the freshman class.
The Fall 2010 Calhoun Honors College Application is now open. In addition to the application submitted by the student, we require submission of a transcript (unofficial photocopies are acceptable), plus two electronically submitted letters of recommendation, one from the student’s high school guidance counselor and one from a teacher. Instructions for submitting these materials are provided in the application. Please submit your application before you have your transcript submitted.
Deadlines and Other Important Information:

Students who have met these deadlines will be notified of their Honors College admissions status by February 15, 2010 and will be eligible for consideration for Clemson's National Scholars Program.
The Non-Priority, final, deadline for application to the Honors College for Fall 2010 is March 1, 2010. All supporting materials are due by March 15, 2010. No student applications will be accepted after March 1, 2010.

Honors Fee: Students who enroll at Clemson and who enter the Honors College after August 15, 2009 are assessed an Honors Fee of $300.00 per semester. This fee supports new and enhanced Honors College programs and activities which enrich our students educational experiences inside and outside the classroom.
