About CWC:
Paddle sports on whitewater rivers and creeks can provide a unique outdoors experience and provide challenges that encourage physical and mental development, working as a group, and pure-adrenaline fun.
The Clemson Whitewater Club is here to help you have as much fun as possible, become aware of the risks and dangers, assist you in the development of basic whitewater skills, and expose you to the safety guidelines associated with whitewater sports.
Joining CWC:
The Clemson Whitewater Club is open to all faculty, staff, and students of Clemson University. The dues are as follows:

Once paid, all dues are non-refundable.
To be a member one must:
- sign a release and waiver of liability
- Complete a membership application
- have 24 hour medical insurance (the policy number and carrier's name must be provided)
- know how to swim
- be a member of Campus Recreation (Fike)
We meet Tuesdays at 10pm at the Fike pool. This gives people the opportunity to practice or learn to roll, try out new boats, meet other boaters to set up river trips, or practice technique.
The primary objectives of the Whitewater Club are:
- To Teach people how to safely enjoy whitewater kayaking and canoeing. Toward this end we try to help our members meet the following other objectives:

- Learn basic paddling skills
- Learn to manuever on whitewater
- Learn how to read whitewater
- Learn whitewater terminology
- Learn the Safety Code of the American Whitewater Affiliation
- Learn generally accepted safety procedures
- Learn rescue techniques
- Accept personal responsibility for choices made
- Provide a forum for Clemson area paddlers to meet and practice
- Provide information on government and private actions that may impact local paddlers.

Our collection of boats is growing all the time. We've got everything from forgiving river runners to aggressive creekers. Additionally, we have a wide assortment of gear available.
The university has set up an email account for each club, and the Clemson Whitewater Club uses this account as an email list.
Your user ID can be added to the list, and any email sent to the list is forwarded to all members. The list is used to make club announcements, and it is a good way for members to put together those mid-week, the water's high, let's go now, paddling trips.
