TigersTeach Internships

In order to provide applicants with real classroom experiences and to initiate them into the service-leader concept, prospective Noyce scholars are encouraged to participate in an internship during their first three undergraduate years at Clemson University. These paid internships will help students obtain firsthand experience working with K-12 students in science or mathematics. Internships provide relevant experience to students who are considering applying for a TigersTeach Scholarship but have not yet fully committed to teaching as a career option.

To be considered for a TigersTeach Internship, you must:

  • Be a current undergraduate Clemson student majoring in a STEM field:
    • Biological sciences (excluding medicine and other clinical fields)
    • Physical Sciences, including Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, and Materials Science
    • Mathematical Sciences
    • Computer and Information Sciences
    • Geosciences
    • Engineering
    • Economics
    • Experimental Psychology
    • Technology areas associated with the preceding fields (for example, Biotechnology, Chemical Technology, Engineering Technology, Information Technology)
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.75; 3.0 preferred
  • Commit to working with students in an assigned school for 50-70 hours per semester

To apply for a TigersTeach Internship, you must:

  • Submit a personal statement of interest highlighting reasons you are considering entering the teaching profession
  • Complete an on-line application
  • Attend an interview

TigersTeach paid Internships will be available during Clemson University’s Spring, Fall and Summer Sessions.
