Located 3.5 miles north of I 85 on SC 187, the Clemson University Electron Microscope Facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment which represents an outlay in excess of $3.5 million over the last three years.

The multi-user facility attracts clients from automotive, pharmaceutical, textile, electronics, environmental and medical industries. The economical cost, wide range of capabilities and minimum wait time makes the facility very attractive to area researchers. Three experienced microscopists are available to assist you with all your requirements covering a wide range of materials.

Rate Increase: 2006/2007 Billing Rates for Electron Microscope Facility

The new internal rates for the Electron Microscope Facility for the new fiscal year are:

• 7600 TEM: $45.00/hour, $35.00/hour after 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.
• HD2000 $40.00/hour, 9500 $40.00/hour
• 3500 SEM $45.00/hour, $35.00/hour after 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.
• 3400 SEM $45.00/hour, $35.00/hour after 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.
• FESEM $45.00/hour, $35.00/hour after 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.
• FIB $50.00/hour
• XPS $50.00/hour

The new rates are in line with other institutions hourly rates and takes into account the increased cost for service contracts and supplies associated with the operation and maintenance of the new equipment.
