Membership

Eligibility

Any faculty from Clemson University, upon retirement, is eligible to apply to receive the title of emeritus or emeritus faculty. These are regular members of the Emeritus College (EC).

Any faculty who have retired from another college or university and who has received the title of emeritus or emerita may apply to be an associate member of the EC.

Other individuals who support the purpose of the College may be invited by the Director (with concurrence of the Advisory Board) to become special members. Special members may participate in all functions of the College but may not vote or hold office.

How to Apply

Regular Members: By indicating to the Provost Office that you will attend the Spring University Meeting following your retirement, you will automatically be recognized as an Emeritus faculty and added to the membership of the Emeritus College. If you are not automatically awarded the title of Emeritus/a, please contact the Director of the Emeritus College.

Associate Members: Write a letter requesting membership to the Director of the Emeritus College. Indicate that you had emeritus/a status at your retiring college/university and include a copy of your CV.

Special Membership: Write a letter justifying and requesting membership to the Director of the Emeritus College. Include a copy of your CV/resume.
