Hiring Authorization Toolkit

Policy:

All required approvals must be in place before:

• A department offers a job to a prospective employee,
• A department hires an employee, or
• An employee starts work.

Approval Process:

All forms utilized in the Hiring Procedure and submitted to the Office of Human Resources must have the Required Approvals in place.

• Academic Areas
• PSA Units and Non-Academic Areas

Hiring Procedures:

• Create/Update, Post, and Fill Classified position
• Create/Update, Post, and Fill Unclassified position
• Refill an Unclassified position
• International Employment
• Hiring an International Employee without a Social Security Number
• Create/Update, Post, and Fill Temporary position
• Graduate Student Employment
• Create and Fill Student Position (Undergraduate Student Employment Pay Scale)
• Volunteers
