MyBenefits
During open enrollment (October 1 – October 31), active employees can use the new MyBenefits online system. Reference the following link to register, obtain a state insurance benefits statement and make open enrollment changes. Please verify mailing address, coverage amounts, and beneficiaries and make any adjustments on-line or contact a benefits counselor for assistance. http://www.eip.sc.gov

TRICARE Supplement
Due to a change in federal law, effective January 1, 2008, group health plan sponsors, including the Employee Insurance Program (EIP), can no longer offer a TRICARE Supplement policy to TRICARE-eligible employees. Employees enrolled in the Tricare Supplement must refuse the state coverage or select another health plan. Details will be mailed to employees enrolled with an option to pay premiums post tax through payroll deduction.

You must enroll or re-enroll in a Medical Spending Account, Limited-Use Medical Spending Account or Dependent Care Spending Account to participate in 2008. You must be an active employee and, by the first working day in January 2008, have completed one year of continuous service. If currently enrolled, you may re-enroll online at www.myFBMC.com If you need assistance, call FBMC at 800-342-8017.
OFF CAMPUS EMPLOYEES
Off campus employees may wish to meet with a benefits counselor at one of the following meetings for assistance during Open Enrollment:
- Edisto REC on September 18th at 11am
- Pee Dee REC on September 19th at 9am
- Baruch Inst. on September 27th at 1pm
- Coastal REC on September 28 th at 10 am
- Livestock, Poultry and Health (Elgin) on October 18th at 10:30am and 1:00pm
AFLAC
AFLAC insurance policies are being offered to compliment your medical coverage. Benefits are paid directly to you, unless assigned, regardless of any other coverage you may have. Also, these policies are available through payroll deduction. If you leave Clemson University, you may take these insurance policies with you at the same premium and benefits.
