Insurance Coverage During Summer Months for Academic Year Personnel

The Office of Human Resources will deduct the insurance premiums from the May 14, 2010 paycheck for all insurance programs for the months of June, July, and August. 

If you will not be returning for the Fall 2010 semester or you experience a change in your position making you ineligible for insurance benefits, your department will need to notify the Office of Human Resources no later than May 5, 2010 so deductions for the summer months may be adjusted.

Any changes should be coordinated with the appropriate personnel at each department, then the department should notify the Office of Human Resources - Benefits in writing no later than May 5, 2010 with the official termination date. If deductions are made and it is determined after the fact that an adjustment needed to be made, refunds will be issued on the next available check date.

Academic personnel NOT returning for the Fall Semester will be removed from the group health, dental and vision coverage the first of the month following the effective date of termination.  The health, dental and vision coverage may be continued for an extended period under COBRA regulations.  Please contact the Office of Human Resources - Benefits for more information concerning cost, forms, and deadlines for the COBRA coverage.
