Information for High School Students

South Carolina high school students are invited to participate in Science as Art 2009! Celebrate the aesthetics of science and the ways in which science and art inform each other. The organizers and sponsors of Science as Art hope that students will be encouraged to present scientific ideas and concepts through artistic expression and to recognize the aesthetic value inherent in images created by science. High school entries will be accepted through March 13, 2009.

  • Informational/Explanatory Graphics
  • Interactive Media
  • Non-Interactive Media

How to Submit an Entry by Mail:
Print this Entry Form, and accompany with a CD containing the electronic version of the entry (one entry form and CD per entry). Mark the CD with your name and entry title. Hard copies of entries may be submitted, however we cannot guarantee that they will be returned.

How to Submit an Entry Electronically:
Fill out Entry Form and email, along with an electronic version of the entry, to Ms. Karen Dimaina at kdimain@clemson.edu.

High school entries will be accepted through March 13, 2009.

Exhibit Information:

All students submitting entries are invited to attend a "Meet the Artist" reception on April 1, 2009, at the Advanced Materials Research Laboratory in Pendleton, South Carolina. Information and directions can be found on the Science as Art web site: http://www.clemson.edu/ese/cp/saa/2009.php. All entries will be displayed in the Cooper Library on the campus of Clemson University from April 2 through May 17, 2009. Entries will also be displayed in the virtual gallery on the Science as Art website. Certificates will be awarded to winners in each of several categories.
