Engineering and Science Education Seminar Series, Fall 2008
The Engineering and Science Education Department is pleased to announce a seminar series beginning this semester, which will be held on Fridays, 3:30 - 4:30, in 422 Rhodes. Experts from academia, industry, and the corporate world will be invited to make presentations on contemporary engineering and science education research issues including recruitment of minorities, retention, technology integration into engineering and science curricula, distance learning, engineering content in K-12 curricula, learning theories, and education policy issues. We have partnered with the Virginia Tech Engineering Education Department, and talks will be originating from one university or the other. The seminar series is funded in part through the Southeast Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (SEAGEP). The seminars will also form the basis for a special topics graduate course (CES 850).
