Hewlett Packard (Agilent Technologies) Capillary Electrophoresis Unit in the Multi-User Analytical Lab at Clemson University

Hewlett Packard (Agilent Technologies) Capillary Electrophoresis Unit

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) with its high efficiency and resolution, rapid analysis time, plus minimal sample and solvent requirements, is an established technique in many laboratories. There are many applications for the technologies in many different types of research. The CE units associated with the Multi-User Analytical laboratory has the advantage of diode array detection with an extended light path capillary. The system has the ability to extend the system's application to capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE), micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC), capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), capillary isoelectric focusing (CIEF), istachophoresis (ITP) and capillary electrochromatography (CEC). The instrument itself is controlled with the Agilent ChemStation for CE, based on Microsoft® Windows. A graphical user interface display guide you through the various operating steps and show the status of the run in real time. Diode array detection (wavelength range 190-600 nm) allows for spectral analysis and peak purity analysis. Capillary can be quickly changed in less than a minute. Automation is available for sample analysis 24 hours/day. Injections can be made by pressure or electrical current. Voltage range is 0-30 kV and current range is 0.300 µA.
