Jasco UV/VIS Sprotrophotometer - Model V-550

Double beam spectrophotometer with a single monochromator and photomultiplier tube detector, offering a minimum bandwidth of 0.1 nm which offers high resolution and wavelength range from 190 to 900 nm. Scanning speed is 10 to 4000 nm/min. Baseline stability is ±0.0004 Abs/hour. Converging light enters the monochromator, is dispersed by the grating and monochromatic light passes through the exit slit. The sector mirror splits the monochromatic light into two beams directed along different lights paths: one incident on the sample to be measured and the other on the reference. After passing through the sample or reference, the light reaches the photomultiplier. This system can extend the capability to measure negative bands up to -2 Abs, useful for differential spectra measurements.

The system is set up to a computer and color printer which have Jasco's Spectra ManagerTM software. Spectra ManagerTM is a spectroscopy software platform that provides control of the Jasco spectrophotometer. It also provides data manipulations functions such as arithmetic operations, derivatives, peak detection and processing, smoothing (several methods) deconvolution, baseline corrections, units conversion, Kramers-Kronig conversion and an audit trail stored as part of the data file. It has the ability to overlay printing in colors and patterns, autoscale, full control of style and fond, customized tool bars, and publication quality printing. Multi-tasking allow background data aquisition which analyzing data or running other programs and digital and graphical data transfer through the clipboard.
