Assistant/Associate Professor - Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management

- This is an Assistant/Associate Professor (9-month, tenure-track; 70% research, 30% teaching)
- Position Description :
- Statewide Extension responsibilities will include the improvement and justification of soil fertility recommendations for agronomic crop production in South Carolina.
- The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded, nationally and internationally recognized research program in aspects of soil fertility and plant nutrition, nutrient cycling, and soil and water quality. The research program is expected to compliment the Extension program.
- In addition to securing external funding, publishing in refereed journals and advising at the graduate level, collaboration with colleagues within and outside the department and other academic, state, and federal institutions, and producer and commodity organizations will be vital components of this position.
- Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in soil science with emphasis in soil fertility/chemistry or related field is required. A research and extension record sufficient to meet Associate Professor promotion requirements is necessary to apply at the Associate Professor level.
- Salary:
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
