County Agent Internships, Summer 2008
Clemson University Cooperative Extension is seeking candidates for County Agent Internships during the summer of 2008. The Cooperative Extension Service provides non-formal outreach education in the areas of water quality, natural resources & environment, 4-H & youth development, food safety & nutrition, community development, and agriculture. The County Agent is the individual charged with development, delivery, and evaluation of Extension programs at the local level.
The successful candidate will be a functioning member of the County Extension Office. The intern will be expected to assist Extension Agents in program development and delivery. Depending upon the particular office and local need, the intern may work with adult and/or youth audiences.
The internships will be paid at the rate of $10.00 per hour for a 37.5 hour work week. Internships will cover a 12-week period during the May to August time frame. Up to 12 internships will be available during 2008. Minority, Spanish speaking, and non-agricultural degree students are encouraged to apply.
Nine internships are available in specific counties and program areas. An additional three internships will be made available if a suitable match between an applicant and county office can be made.
