2015.JPGThe  4-H Legislative Day is sponsored by State 4-H Teen Council along with a delegation of 4-H members at large selected by Region. Youth  observe the Legislature and Senate in action,  meet with their own legislators, senators and the governor.

To become a youth delegate, 4-H members must submit a letter to their county agent including the following information:

  • Why you would be a good candidate
  • What you hope to gain or learn from 4-H Legislative Day 
  • Describe plans for taking what you learn on Legislative Day back to your county

Bamberg and Barnwell County delegates must submit letters and application to Shannon Herndon by email to sbhrndn@clemson.edu. All other counties please submit to Pam Ardern, State 4-H Office, pardern@clemson.edu. Teen Council will select the delegates.

Tentative Schedule:

9:30      Meet at Clemson University Governmental Affairs Office
10:00    Meet and Greet Legislators
12:00    Recognized at 4-H members in House of Representatives and Senate
1:00      Lunch at Capitol City Club
2:00      Tour State House
2:30      Meet Governor's Staff
