2013 Laurens County 4-H Summer Activities

4-H Summer Activities are sponsored by Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service and provide day classes and trips designed to encourage youth to learn new things, develop new skills, and explore new interests. The activities are open to all youth ages 5 and older unless outlined in this brochure. Programs are taught and supervised by the CU Cooperative Extension staff and 4-H volunteers. Join us for a fun filled day at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. Learn about all kinds of different animals from around the world. Walk into a  kangaroo pen or feed a giraffe. This trip is a sure way to have a exciting outing that your children will learn from and your family will enjoy.

Learn a little about everything 4-H at this day camp. Get introduced to the animal, science, gardening, and many other projects 4-H has to offer. This is great way to discover new interest while having fun.

4-H Club Summer Camp

Camp Long in Aiken, SC

A South Carolina tradition for over 50 years, 4-H Summer Camp offers traditional camp activities with plenty of fun, friends and adventure! We offer great overnight camp at a great value. Facilities include recreational building, basketball court, baseball field, an 18-acre pond for swimming and canoeing, team challenge course, climbing wall zip line and hiking trails.

4-H2O Camp

June 25-28, 2013

Lake Greenwood State Park in Greenwood, SC

Join the fun! This 4-H camp has tons of hands-on aquatic activities. Learn about things like: Why anyone build a lake? What's the big deal about algae and pollution? What is plantkon and why is it in our lake? Do fun stuff like: Go out on the pontoon, take a canoe trip, collect fish with a seining net, and go swimming every day!

Overnight Camp

Clemson University in Clemson, SC

4-H Horsemanship Camp provides youth an opportunity to learn and better techniques of horsemanship while enjoying the fellowship of other 4-H'ers from across the state. The camp is designed to increase horse knowledge and horsemanship skills- from basics for beginning riders to showing techniques for the advance rider.
