Preparing Quick, Healthy Meals

Quick meals are a necessity, especially when time is limited by working outside the home, participating in many community activities, or staying busy with small children or elderly parents. Throwing together a meal in minutes is easy if you have done some advance preparation. The two keys to making quick, healthy meals and snacks are to keep a well-stocked kitchen and to spend a few minutes planning meals every week.

To find out what kinds of foods should be in a well-stocked pantry as well as tips for saving time and energy while serving healthful foods to your family, see HGIC 4240, Quick Meals and HGIC 4225, Stocking the Home Pantry for Quick Meals.
