Upcoming Lawn Care Training In Spartanburg

With spring just around the corner, it won't be long before warm-season lawns (centipede, St. Augustine, bermuda, zoysia, etc.) begin actively growing and once again need our attention. If you've ever wondered how best to care for a lawn, you may be interested in an upcoming Home & Garden Information Center training: Advanced Home Lawn Care Using Integrated Pest Management.

The program will provide up-to-date, research-based, best management practices for home lawns. While the training is intended primarily for Master Gardeners, landscapers and the general public are encouraged to attend. Topics that will be covered include: lawn establishment; lawn care; insect, disease and weed identification and control; fire ant control; and mole & vole control. Handouts are included in the registration fee, and 4½ pesticide license recertification credits and 5½ Master Gardener continuing education credits are available at the completion of the program.

Location: The training will take place at Spartanburg Community College in the Tracy Gaines Auditorium on Thursday, March 25 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Information & Registration: The $50 registration fee is required by March 19. For more information, see:
