Sustainable Small Farms and Backyards

Are you interested in learning the basics of how to have a small farm in your own back yard? If so, come join us for a 6-week course to learn the basics on how to care for livestock honey bees and growing your own fruits and vegetables. We will even tell you how to market the excess crops you produce!

Clemson Extension’s Livestock & Forages team and the Home & Garden Information Center will offer classes at the Poole Agriculture Center of Clemson University in Room A-105 beginning April 5th. Classes will meet weekly through May 10th on Tuesday nights from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. Topics discussed will cover beekeeping basics, soil fertility, composting, livestock, fruit and vegetable gardening, and marketing. Class space is limited, so sign-up now!

The registration fee of $150 covers 6 classes, lesson materials, an optional field trip (weather permitting) and drinks & snacks.
