REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED!

Rooted In: Building Connections for Sustainable Gardens in South Carolina

Enjoy being a Master Gardener? Believe in volunteering for something larger than yourself? Ever wish you could connect to other Master Gardeners around the state? Now is the time! Come join us in Columbia for the first of many (we hope) Master Gardening Conventions!

Yes, there will be fabulous garden speakers!
Yes, there will be amazing art, plant, book and other vendors!
Yes, there will be interesting door prizes!

The only thing missing is YOU!!!  The Convention is being held as a direct result of the Appreciative Inquiry sessions held last year for Master Gardeners and County Extension Agents (MG coordinators)!  Through these sessions, you encouraged many things, including the formation of a State-wide Association. The benefits of an organization like this include:

1)sharing across Associations;
2)learning from each other;
3)developing state-wide efforts to impact gardening in the state;
4)developing award programs and more!

How are we building capacity through this Convention?

1)Linking to the SCMMGA Symposium: Attend the Thursday, March 15th Symposium AND the Convention to receive a SC Master Gardener-branded apron (NEW LOGO!)!
2)Poster Session: Come share your best educational effort or volunteer project with fellow Master Gardeners! Submission guidelines are located here.
3)Master Gardener book: Submit your favorite native plant for inclusion in this year's themed Master Gardener book! We hope to have one issue per year-created by you and for you! Submission guidelines are located here.
4)Business meeting: Attend the business meeting to hear results of the Appreciative Inquiry sessions, new guidelines and directions for future GROWTH of the program!
5)Soiree: Come help us celebrate a new beginning at Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens! Jenks Farmer, South Carolina's own horticulturist extraordinaire will present after dinner! Mingle with old friends and make new ones at this fun Soiree held in a beautiful setting that has benefitted from the great volunteer work of Master Gardeners!
