Health Rocks: 4-H Program
Health Rocks is a healthy living program designed for youth ages 8 and up to learn behavior effects of drugs, health consequences of drug use, decision making, managing stress and stress relief, family, peer, media, and technology influence, and resisting risky behaviors. The Healthy Rocks Program helps youth resist risky behaviors by learning the following life skills: critical thinking, decision-making, communication, managing feelings, stress management and goal setting. Health Rocks is FUN!
Health Rocks meets National Health Education Standards, is usable in a variety of learning settings, has easily adaptable lessons, flexible lesson plans, and is interactive and hands.
The curriculum addresses key areas linked to deterring teen drug use:
- Peer pressure
- Choices and decisions
- Refusal skills
- Media influences
