University Facilities is a professional service organization committed to supporting Clemson University's goal to be a top twenty public institution. We provide the necessary services to maintain the University buildings and grounds in an attractive, safe, and energy efficient condition. Our goal is to maintain the campus and facilities at the high standard that is exemplified by the Clemson tradition of excellence. An attractive campus and clean buildings in a good state of repair are essential to providing an effective learning environment for our faculty and students.
Through the efforts of approximately 300 dedicated employees the department maintains 500 acres of improved grounds and approximately 3.7 million square feet of building area. The department operates and maintains the University's major utility systems such as electrical, lighting, and steam distribution, central steam plant, chilled water plant, and water systems. The department consists of: University Planning and Design, Major Projects, Custodial Services and Recycling, Maintenance and Minor Project Services, Landscape Services, Utility Services, and Support Services. Our dedicated custodians, landscaping staff, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, HVAC mechanics, painters, utilities service workers, storeroom workers, engineers, and our clerical, administrative and management staff are here to support you in your day-to-day activities.
The purpose of this web site is to inform the University community about our organization, the services we offer, and the policies that govern facilities design, construction, and operation. We hope that you will find it informative and useful.
