Design

The International Building Code (IBC) addresses design, fabrication, erection, and other construction practices for structural steel and related members, and incorporates by reference the requirements of several industry publications, including AISC, AISI, SJI, AWS, ASTM, and ASCE. All design musr be in accordance with all applicable provisions of these codes and guides.

For projects using a large quantity of structural steel, a site storage area must be identified on the documents after coordination with the Project Manager.

When applicable, specify appropriate testing of connections and certification by approved testing agency.
