Periodically, the Landscape Services Arbor Crew needs to remove damaged campus trees for safety reasons. When this happens, the trees will be identified by location and inventory numbers. A description of the causes for removal will be given below, as well as an explanation of how decisions have been made to determine their removal.

October 10, 2008
As construction of the Academic Success Center progresses, it is evident that two magnolia trees (1733, 1734) will have to be removed. Attempts were made to keep these trees, but connection to the existing water line and close proximity to the building foundation precluded keeping the two trees.
September 15, 2008
The following trees succumbed to the drought and must be removed. As drought conditions continue, it is likely more trees will have to be removed.

Tree 1398: southern red oak
Tree 3686: dogwood
Tree 4737: post oak
Tree 4963: southern red oak
Tree 5670: loblolly pine
