Below you will find introductions to our Administrative and Supervisory Staff:

Adrienne Gerus, Director
Credit for Clemson University's well-maintained and daresay beautiful campus can be attributed to Facilities' Landscape Services Department, under the direction of Adrienne Gerus. She has held the appointment of Director of Landscape Services for over 25 years and is responsible for overall landscape maintenance, refuse collection, road and parking lot maintenance, and moving services. Adrienne holds a Master's degree from Clemson University in Agriculture.

Bill Carson, Horticulture Manager
Bill is the Horticulture Manager for the Landscape Services Department. He directs campus landscape improvements and provides horticultural expertise for landscape supervisors. He also manages the greenhouse, arbor, landscape, and litter control crews. Bill joined the Landscape Services Department in 1991 and has a Bachelor's degree from Clemson University in Ornamental Horticulture.

Paul Minerva, Arborist and Mechanic Shop Manager
Paul holds the title of Arborist as well as mechanic shop manager for Landscape Services. As Arborist, his primary responsibilities include the planning, scheduling, and management of preventive arboricultural maintenance. He also implements and maintains a comprehensive tree inventory of approximately 6000 trees. As manager of the Landscape Services mechanic shop, Paul administers related activities such as preventive maintenance work orders to insure proper equipment maintenance. He also prepares bid specifications for new landscape and construction equipment.

Julie Gambrell, Administrative Specialist
As administrative specialist, Julie works directly for the Landscape director, as well as the department managers and supervisors, performing a variety of administrative duties. Her primary responsibilities include: everyday general operation of the office, data entry, purchasing, records management, and liaison between Landscape Services employees and other university and agency representatives.

Thad Parton, Heavy Equipment / Moving Crew Supervisor
For over sixteen years, Thad has provided dedicated service to the Landscape Department. He is primarily involved with heavy equipment operation and moving. Thad's other duties include gravel and asphalt road maintenance, operation of the University C&D Landfill in accordance with DHEC guidelines, and special events set up.

Keith Chapman, Core Campus Horticulture Supervisor
Keith has worked for the Landscape Services Department for over 9 years. Along with his crew, he is responsible for maintaining the landscape and lawn of the amphitheater, Cooper Library, Strom Thurmond Institute, Carillon Garden, and Clemson Green. The core campus crew also performs litter removal for the entire campus. Keith graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Park Administration.

Rick Boulanger, Center Campus Horticulture Supervisor
Rick has been employed with the Landscape Services Department since 2001. As supervisor for center campus, he and his crew are responsible for landscaping and general grounds keeping operations of high profile areas such as Tillman Hall, Cox Plaza, Brooks Center for the Performing Arts, and the Alumni Center. Rick is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture from Clemson University.

Billy Grant, East and Perimeter Campus Horticulture Supervisor
Billy has been with the Landscape Services Department since 1988. His responsibilities as supervisor include scheduling and supervising grounds-keeping activities, training employees in use of landscape and heavy equipment, monitoring the handling and application of pesticides, materials and equipment, identifying insect and disease problems of plant material (including corrective action), as well as monitoring irrigation needs within east campus.

Eric Martin, West Campus Horticulture Supervisor
Under the direction of Eric, the west campus crew strives to promote a healthy, safe, and attractive landscape setting for students, faculty, and staff. The areas maintained by the west campus crew include: Sirrine Hall, Hunter Hall, Calhoun Mansion, McCabe Hall, Holmes Hall, the Shoeboxes, Stadium Suites, Fike Recreation Center, Littlejohn Coliseum, and the Highway 93 west entrance to the campus.

Carol Pike, Greenhouse Specialist
Operation of the greenhouse is Carol's primary role at Landscape Services. She maintains a supply of varied foliage plants to be used in administrative offices and public outdoor areas. She also selects, orders, and produces bedding plants for seasonal use on campus. In addition to her greenhouse duties, Carol maintains the grounds at the President's Home and produces cut flowers to be used at campus functions. Carol graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture.

Kevin Pruitt / Steven Pate, Irrigation Specialists
Combined, Kevin and Steven offer over twenty-five years of experience in irrigation. They perform vital tasks such as designing and installing irritation systems and additions to existing systems, scheduling irrigation maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems, checking irrigation system plans, and determining the water requirements for specific areas on campus.

Roger Dunson, Waste Management Specialist
Roger handles garbage removal for the campus. His other responsibilities include painting, cleaning, replacing and keeping an inventory of dumpsters, cleaning up construction debris at Lee and Lowry Halls as well as the Brooks Center for Performing Arts, cutting kudzu, and assisting in snow and ice removal.

Ed Moller / Lonnie Swafford, Mechanics
Ed and Lonnie play a vital role in operations at Landscape Services by performing preventative maintence and repairs to all of Landscape's equipment.
