Kite Hill Recycling Center

Kite Hill Recycling Center (KHRC) is considered a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). We at Clemson University are very fortunate to have this type of facility available for use on campus. The KHRC houses and facilitates much of Clemson University’s day-to-day recycling and recovery activities. In addition to KHRC, we also have a Recycling Drop-Off Center available to students, faculty, and staff. Since many of our students commute to campus it is a great option for those looking for a place to bring their recyclables.

Recommended times for drop-offs are between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., or from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. KHRC is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Note: KHRC is closed on Gameday weekends from Friday at 6 a.m. until Tuesday at 6 a.m. due to its use as a temporary parking lot for students during home football games. The extended closure enhances the safety of both pedestrians and drivers during these periods.

Where to Drop-Off when KHRC is Closed

The City of Clemson has a drop-off location at the Public Works/Brush Grinding Facility on 1155 Old Central Road. This location takes #1 and #2 plastics, paper, and steel and aluminum cans.

Need Directions?
