Utility Services provides Clemson University with a reliable and dependable supply of steam, chilled water, and electricity to meet the heating, cooling, and electrical demands of our University community, while also striving to reduce overall energy consumption through efficient and effective energy management.
Services We Provide
We provide a variety of services that generally can be placed within four different categories.
Electrical Distribution, which is the process of coordinating the operation and maintenance of all electrical systems required to provide electrical service to all utility customers. This includes primary electric service, street lights, walkways, traffic signals, and telecommunication cables.
Mechanical Distribution, described best as the professional design and project management services for all mechanical systems required for all utility customers. This includes steam, chilled water, domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, natural gas, and compressed air.
Utility Engineering deals with engineering services that evaluate all utility systems and design, manage, and construct utility system modifications and expansions. Utility engineers will provide utility system and equipment evaluations for all utility customers.
And finally, Utility Production focuses on the operation and maintenance of utility equipment and systems throughout the University. These support services include financial information systems, computer-based information systems, human resources management, clerical and secretarial support, administrative and public relations interface between University Facilities and the university community.
