Utility Services’ goal is to provide a dependable supply of steam, chilled water, electricity, and potable water in support of Clemson University’s mission of teaching, research, and public service while striving to reduce overall energy consumption through efficient and effective energy management strategies.

• Services We Provide +

  Services provided can be generally categorized as follows:

  Electrical Distribution: operation and maintenance of all on campus underground and overhead electrical distribution lines emanating from Duke Energy and Blue Ridge Electric. This distribution system includes electrical service to buildings, street and walkway lighting, as well as traffic signals.

  Mechanical Distribution: operation and maintenance of all underground distribution lines for steam, chilled water, domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm water, and natural gas.

  Utility Production: 24/7 operation and maintenance of two chilled water plants, a central energy plant for steam and chilled water, and the wastewater treatment plant.

  Utility Engineering: engineering design and project management in support of both the utility distribution systems as well as the utility production assets.

• Water Quality +

  Clemson University is committed to providing students, faculty, and staff with a safe and reliable supply of high-quality drinking water. We test our water using sophisticated equipment and advanced procedures. The water supplied by Clemson University Water System meets state and federal standards for both appearance and safety. The annual "Consumer Confidence Reports," posted below and are required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), tell you where your water comes from, what our tests show about it, and other things you should know about drinking water.

• Johnson Controls Metasys +

  Clemson University utilizes Johnson Controls' Metasys system for energy management monitoring. The tutorial below will help you install the Metasys system.  Please contact Matt Holbrooks in the Energy Management Shop for a user account and support.

  1. Open your browser.	2. Run as administrator.	3. Download the installer.
  4. Save and run installer.	5. Left-click "Next."	6. Left-click "Next" again.
  7. Agree to the terms.	8. Click "Next" again.	9. Click "Install."
  10. View progress bar.	11. Click "Finish."	12. Left-click "Add".
  13. Enter ip address.	14. Create shortcut.	15. Metasys installs.
  16. Exit the Launcher.	17. Shortcuts on desktop.	18. Open Metasys.
