![]() The food industry is the largest industry in the U.S. and therefore the demand for well-educated food science graduates is high. The job placement rate for Clemson's food science graduates is over 95 percent, and most of these students have more than one job offer. The average starting salary for a B.S. graduate in food science is $45,000. A flexible curriculum prepares you for a career such as a food safety microbiologist, flavor chemist, new product developer or food packaging specialist.
