Clemson University Nutrition Outreach Program

Clemson Nutrition Outreach Programs help people improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and knowledge to work.

Why Nutrition Outreach?

Current national health trends reflect:

  • increases in adult and childhood overweight and obesity rates
  • low levels of physical activity
  • low nutritional quality of diets
  • increases in obesity-related diseases like diabetes

Local efforts of nutrition and health educators, collectively working with people of the community toward a single goal, can ultimately improve the overall health of the nation.

Our Accomplishments

Through partn erships in our communities, we have been able to:

  • Provide reliable nutrition and food safety information across a variety of media including radio, television, and internet
  • Provide nutrition education in a variety of settings, including neighborhood grocery stores, schools, and churches

Our Nutrition Outreach Programs continually seek ways improve the health and well-being of the people of South Carolina.
