Sorority Recruitment

Sorority recruitment occurs a few days before your classes start at Clemson. You will be divided up into recruitment groups by your residential halls. A “Recruitment Councilor” also known as a “Rho Chi” will advise you and your recruitment group. Your Rho Chi is an undisclosed sorority sister. She will be unaffiliated to her sorority during recruitment. She will help you with any questions you may have, and she will become your friend as well!

On your first day, follow your schedule, and you will be able to meet all ten of Clemson’s sororities on campus. Keep in mind that you are required to attend all ten sororities’ first round. During the rounds, the sororities will welcome you with exciting chanting and singing. A sister will greet you at the door and pull you off to the side where you will get to know each other until another sister comes to meet you. The first round is “Go Greek” where everyone is encouraged to join a sorority. Next is second round where you will do a craft for the sororities’ philanthropy. Third round presents information about each chapter’s activities throughout the year. After the each round, you will vote for the sororities that you felt most compatible with to be called back to for future recruitment rounds. You may be asked back to up to seven sororities for second round, four for third round, and two for preference round.

On bid day, your Rho Chi will lead you and your recruitment group to Tillman Hall. There you will discover which sorority all of the Rho Chi’s are affiliated with and cheer for all of your new potential Greek sisters. Finally, you will receive and accept a bid from the sorority that fits you best!
