Welcome to the South Carolina Food Stamp Nutrition Education website.
Purpose
The purpose of Food Stamp Nutrition Education in South Carolina is to improve diets and food
security of Food Stamp eligible South Carolinians and to expand or extend existing food and nutrition efforts
and to create new opportunities to reach Food Stamp eligible populations. Food Stamp
Nutrition Education is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and in South
Carolina is managed by the Family Nutrition Program of the Department of Social Services. It is
administered by Clemson University Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition and the Cooperative
Extension System.
Goal
The goal of Food Stamp Nutrition Education is to help Food Stamp eligible
populations improve the quality of their lives by providing science-based food and nutrition information and
educational opportunities.
