The Mini-Society® curriculum is an experience-based approach to teaching entrepreneurial, economic, and citizenship concepts to youth ages 8 - 12 years. Developed by Dr. Marilyn Kourilsky, the curriculum is implemented in 43 states and has been tested and refined over more than three decades.

The program has been endorsed by the United States Department of Education. Cross-referencing with the South Carolina State Standards indicates a match in social studies and history for grades three to seven.

Mini-Society® can be conducted in classrooms, during summer camp, after-school programming, community recreational youth programs, and church youth programs. However, programs must be planned for youth to participate in 25 hours of Mini-Society®.

Mini-Society®to youth ages 8 - 12 years old. Funding for these workshops is made possible by the National Council on Economic Education, with support from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Training sessions include 24 hours of interactive training. Participants completing the training will receive the Mini-Society® curriculum and permission to teach the curriculum. The Mini-Society® curriculum and all workshop materials fall under the registered trademark of Marilyn Kourilsky.

During Mini-Society®, youth will establish their own society, print their own money, open businesses, and create a governing body. This experience helps children understand more about math, law, entrepreneurship, economics, government, and ethics. Mini-Society® facilitator training provides all items necessary to implement Mini-Society®.
