One Clemson: Yours, Mine and Ours

The purpose of “One Clemson” is to engage our freshmen and transfer students around one of our Core Values, Respect. The freshmen and transfer students will participate in experiential, interactive activities aimed at facilitating dialogue and increasing awareness of and respect for different cultures and backgrounds. This program ties in well with our university goal of “strengthening our sense of community.” We are excited about this program and the potential to plant a seed with our freshmen and transfer students that will hopefully encourage them to seek out additional opportunities to learn from those around them during their time at Clemson and beyond.

In order for this university event to be successful, we need your help as a facilitator. We will be conducting several small-group sessions across campus with the freshmen and transfer students on August 18, 2008.  The primary facilitator in each small group will be a Clemson University student.  The secondary facilitator will be a faculty or staff member.

If you would like to be a part of this very special event, please complete the  Facilitator Application form (pdf) and submit it to Lynn Tumblin ASAP.

If you do not meet all of the facilitator criteria, but would still like to assist us with this program, please email Lynn Tumblin at ltumbli@clemson.edu. We are also in need of volunteers to assist us with logistics on this day, such as distributing materials to the facilitators, taking food to the facilitators in-between the training sessions, etc.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of this very special request.  If you have any questions, please contact Lynn Tumblin at (864) 656-7625 or via email at ltumbli@clemson.edu.
