Student Learning Outcomes

Student affairs professionals have a particular responsibility for ensuring that our campus is a true learning community committed to providing “transformative” educational experiences for all students. The Clemson University Division of Student Affairs has adopted four student learning outcomes:

  • Self-Knowledge
  • Leadership and Communication

  • Social Responsibility

  • Life Skills Application

Each of the departments within the Division of Student Affairs has identified specific student learning outcomes to address during the 2008-2009 academic year. The student learning outcomes for the Gantt Intercultural Center are:

Social Responsibility—Appreciating Diversity

  • As a result of participating in One World Project events, students will be able to articulate an understanding of the impact of oppression on the Clemson University community.

  • As a result of participating in the Clemson Language Partner Program, students will learn more about another culture other than their own and be able to articulate the importance of respecting other members of the Clemson University Community.

Social Responsibility—Global Interdependence and Citizenship
