On Friday, September 26, 2008, the Clemson University Foundation celebrated its more than 75 years of service to Clemson University. In 1933, four members of the Clemson Alumni Association started the Clemson College Foundation with the purpose of establishing a cash fund to benefit Clemson College. Today, the Clemson University Foundation, with its strong principles of governance, high ethical standards, and leadership’s can-do attitude, is a model for non-profit organizations in higher education.
Currently, the Clemson University Foundation manages more than 425 million dollars. The celebration honored the men and women whose gifts, for the past 75 years, have enabled the Foundation to provide outstanding service to Clemson University.
