Who Gives?

If Clemson students and faculty are the heart of our University, then donors are the backbone. Through the financial support of donors, Clemson is able to attract and retain the best students and faculty and support them as they discover how to change the world.

The generosity of our donors has led to scholarships and fellowships, endowed chairs and professorships, programs and centers, and much more. These initiatives’ future — and the success of the Will to Lead campaign — depend on the continuing support of our donors.

We invite you to meet some of our featured donors, learn about donor recognition at Clemson and discover how you can make a difference.

Meet Our Donors

Gill

Mike Gill

Mike Gill came to Clemson from Baltimore in the fall of 1968 on a baseball scholarship, playing under Coach Bill Wilhelm. Today, he and his wife, Mary, support the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts with a generous endowment. Perhaps the connection between baseball and the Brooks Center is not readily apparent, but then Clemson has a way of bringing people and ideas together in unexpected ways.

Zucker

Zucker Family

Charleston businesswoman and philanthropist Anita Zucker and her family have made a $5 million Will to Lead gift to help build the Zucker Family Graduate Education Center at the Clemson University Restoration Institute, creating a focal point to drive the state's economy and a place for students, university faculty and staff and private industry to interact.

Watt

Watt Family

A $5.5 million gift from Charles Watt, a man described by President Barker as “relentlessly curious,” and his family will transform the way Clemson students learn, and create a new academic center of the University. Their generous gift will establish the Watt Family Innovation Center for academic collaboration and student engagement.
