Who is Dr. Dimitrova?

Elena Dimitrova is an associate professor in the Mathematical Sciences Department. Her research interests include systems biology, reverse-engineering methods, and computational algebra. She has received research and travel funding from NSF. She received her Ph.D. in mathematics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

How Dr. Dimitrova’s research is transforming health care

Elena is working on a multidisciplinary research team that is studying how to delineate the shared and unique features of the response to tissue damage by ischemia/reperfusion injury in disparate tissues in mouse models and human patient samples.
