Feng Luo currently is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing at Clemson University. He received his PhD degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Dallas, 2004. He was a Post-doctorial senior research associate at the Department of Pathology of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. His research interests are big data analytics, bioinformatics, medical informatics, data mining machine learning and distributed computing. Currently, he is focusing on big data analytics algorithm and system, social media data analysis, high-throughput biological data analysis, computational genomics and glycomics, disease diagnosis and bioinformatics. He has published 37 journal articles and 18 conference papers in these areas.
Feng’s research group has collaborated with Dr. Anand Srivastava at GGC on autism diagnosis. Through analyzing the data collected by Dr. Srivastava’s group, his group has constructed a new classifier for autism early detection. His group also is working with other faculties on bullying detection using social media data.
