Who is Dr. Martinez-Duarte?

Rodrigo Martinez-Duarte is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on micro/nanofabrication, carbonaceous materials, electrokinetics and microfluidics. He has been involved in research projects in Spain, India, Mexico and South Korea, and he is a councilor for the AES Electrophoresis Society. He previously worked at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, as a postdoctoral researcher.

How Dr. Martinez-Duarte’s research is transforming health care

Rodrigo’s lab, the Multiscale Manufacturing Laboratory, is currently conducting research involving detection of the cause of infection, bio-enabled nanomanufacturing, and advanced manufacturing of carbonaceous materials. The goal of his research is to provide innovative, practical applications of manufacturing technologies in healthcare systems.
