Who is Dr. Weisensee?
Katherine Weisensee is an associate professor within the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. She has taught courses in anthropology, human variation, and human remains recovery. Her current research interests include craniofacial morphology, skeletal biology, geometric morphometrics, and forensics. She also works as a forensic anthropology consultant for several Upstate counties.

How Dr. Weisensee’s research is transforming health care
Katherine is working with a collaborative research team to investigate innovative methods for estimating the postmortem interval in human skeletal remains recovered from a forensic context through the examination of the decomposition process in bone under varying environmental conditions. She is also investigating craniofacial fluctuating asymmetry as a marker of developmental stress using geometric morphometric methods.
