The College of Health, Education, and Human Development (HEHD) Office of Distance Education (ODE) is responsible for the management of all courses offered for off-campus students. The courses may be taught in a traditional classroom at an off-campus site, online, or delivered through various other synchronous and asynchronous distance education technologies.

Degree programs are designed to meet the needs of students who are working in their chosen profession but desire to continue their education from their current locations. The courses are offered at the University Center of Greenville or through various distance education technologies. The method of delivery varies with the degree program.

Programs are developed to complement the Clemson University and HEHD College vision and mission statements. All courses and programs adhere to the Principles of Good Practice as defined by the Southern Regional Electronic Campus.

The program and courses offered through the HEHD Office of Distance Education are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS); and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), as appropriate.

Clemson University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Bachelor's, Master's, Education Specialist, and Doctor's degrees.  Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call (404) 679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Clemson University.
