EDSC 326: Practicum in Secondary Mathematics
The primary focus of this junior-level course is to observe and participate in school mathematics from the perspective of a soon-to-be teacher. As a major component, students will serve in mathematics classrooms in schools with diverse populations for a minimum of 45 hours. During this time, students will collaborate with mentor teachers and university instructors in conducting focused observations, tutoring individual students, and leading small-group instructional activities. Furthermore, students will design, deliver, and reflect upon a minimum of two inquiry-based lessons that address important mathematical concepts.
